On the occasion of the International Day of Education, the International Humanitarian Law Center, in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts and Languages – University of Tripoli, the National Institution for Human Rights, and Ruh Al-Ataa Clinic, organized a specialized scientific dialogue entitled:

“For a Safe Childhood – A Multidisciplinary Dialogue.”

This event was held within the framework of joint efforts to enhance child protection and to promote an integrated approach that brings together legal, psychological, social, and institutional dimensions.

The dialogue witnessed active participation from UNICEF, the Syndicate of Social and Psychological Specialists, as well as a distinguished group of academics, experts, and practitioners. The discussions addressed key issues related to protecting children from violence and abuse, the psychological and social impacts of family conflicts, digital risks, and the role of national legislation and institutional mechanisms in ensuring the best interests of the child.

The dialogue concluded with a set of practical recommendations emphasizing the importance of strengthening psychosocial support, activating prevention and early awareness, developing legal and institutional frameworks, and enhancing coordination between official bodies and civil society organizations.

The International Humanitarian Law Center affirms that child protection is a collective responsibility, and that investing in education and child protection is an investment in a safer and more just future.
