The International Humanitarian Law Center strongly condemns the violations and abuse to the human rights in Libya, which was stated in the report issued by the UN’s Human Rights Office, in cooperation with the UN’s support expedition to Libya, concerning what was dubbed Violations Behind Bars (The Arbitrary and Unlawful Detentions in Libya), which was published on Tuesday dating April 8th 2018, following the armed groups all around Libya’s detaining of thousands of people –include those following the nation- arbitrarily, lengthily and without legal cause. Where there are being subjected to torture, and other violations and abuse of human rights. In which the report tells of the detention of men, women, and children all around Libya, in an arbitrary fashion, and illegally deny them their freedom because of their tribal and family affiliations, or their imagined political affiliations.” The report adds that “the victims are rarely allowed to recourse to judicial remedies or compensations; or are not allowed that at all, while the members of the armed groups get off scot-free.”
