Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina Visits the International Law Center in Libya

The President of the International Law Center in Libya, the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Libya, Mr. Senad Mašović, paid a public visit to learn about the Center’s activities since its inception and its role in promoting international forensic law and raising awareness of its provisions in Libya. This is achieved through the implementation of awareness programs targeting relevant groups and introducing international human rights law.

The visit included a presentation on the experience of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the areas of transitional justice, preserving human memory, and raising awareness of the effects of armed conflict. Several public and social institutions and centers have been involved in documenting and raising awareness of international human rights law, most notably:

• Museum of Crimes Against Humanity and Genocide

• Museum of War Childhood

• Sarajevo War Tunnel

• Srebrenica Genocide Memorial

• Faculty of Law in Sarajevo

• Documentation and Studies Center The meeting also discussed ways of joint cooperation between researchers and institutions, drawing on Bosnian experience in the fields of documentation and national reconciliation, advice that could contribute to supporting efforts to spread international legal principles and consolidate a culture of peace and justice in Libya.
